Yana Synkova was born at Brno, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). She began modeling in the mid-1990s. Her career took a turn toward the east when she married an Indian painter Satyakam Gupta whom she met over a cup of coffee. So she was now called and known as Yana Gupta.
Yana, who’s been modeling since the age of 16, has modeled for international clients like Calvin Klein and Victoria’s Secret. Her peaches and cream complexion and picture perfect looks has already made Yana a hot property on the ramp. She drew much attention in Europe. She even worked on brands like Nivea and Shiseido before settling in India, where her husband was based.
Now, Yana Gupta is an established model and an actress in Bollywood. Stunning model Yana came in spotlight after having replaced dusky beauty Bipasha Basu in the Bollywood movie “Dum” for the song ‘Babuji’ which made her famous for cameo item numbers.
Yana Gupta was named the new face for Lakme cosmetics in India in 2001, replacing its former model Lisa Ray. Word has it the company spotted her on the cover of the swimsuit issue of Man’s World. She literally swept men off their feet when she appeared on the cover of Man’s World, a high-profile lifestyle magazine a couple of years ago.
Yana comes across as a multi-faceted person who terms herself as a jack-of-all-trades. She can speak Japanese, Spanish, English and Hindi in bits and pieces, apart from her native Czech. Her varied interests lie in music (she used to play the flute and the piano), dancing, fitness and health, aerobics and computers.
Yana Gupta is a vegetarian. She is a member of PETA, and has been featured in its campaigns. And if you are wondering what makes Yana so beautiful? Well, Yana believes in eating healthy and getting her beauty sleep. She includes fruits and vegetables, and juices in her diet. One of her favorites among juices is carrot and beetroot juice. She also applies honey on her face. Ahh!! So that’s the secret.
Yana works out for an hour and a half every day, except when she is traveling or when she is on a day-long job. However, even then, she somehow manages to take out some time for exercise. You see such great physique doesn’t come that easy.
Yana is planning to launch her own music album, and she will write, compose the music and sing the songs, all by herself. All the songs will be in English, and she won’t be accepting any other offers till she is done with this project.
Yana recently signed up with a leading mobile and PC games company India Games as brand ambassador and will be featured in several interesting games and applications related to fitness, puzzles etc.
Yana’s idea of a perfect holiday is getting lost anywhere deep in the ocean or in the forests of Czech Republic; through the small towns, backpack in hand.
Presently, Yana is playing the role of a TV anchor on the countdown show “Mirch Masala” on ZoomTV where she dances to famous dance numbers.
